Moisture Barrier

Anytime you are installing flooring onto a bare concrete subfloor you need to apply a moisture barrier. This barrier also called a vapor barrier and will block any moisture from coming into your space and affecting your flooring. Excess moisture can cause hardwood and laminate floors to buckle and warp causing irreparable damage. The cost to install a moisture barrier underlayment pales in comparison with the cost to replace all of your flooring.
