Description

Our Best Selling Underlayment - QuietWalk Underlayment for Laminate, Hardwood Engineered, and Floating Floor Applications

Quiet Walk is a premium flooring underlayment choice allowing firm support for multiple types of flooring with great acoustic benefits. Built with sound reduction and moisture dissipation in mind.

Product Features

  • Use with laminate, floating engineered, floating bamboo and luxury vinyl plank (5mm and thicker). Underlayment is for floating floor applications (Flooring that required no glue or nail down.) Will not work with nail/staple or glue down applications or luxury vinyl flooring that is 4mm or thinner flooring.
  • Superior sound reduction recycled fibers absorbs sound and keep it from traveling to other rooms, makes click-together floating floors sound solid underfoot.
  • IIC (Impact Insulation Class) Sound Rating of 71. IIC is a measure of how much impact sound (walking, kids playing, etc.) is reduced after traveling through the floor covering, underlayment, and building structure and emerging in the room below.
  • STC (Sound Transmission Class) Sound Rating of 66. STC is a measure of how much airborne sound (speech, TV, stereo, etc.) is reduced after traveling through the floor covering, underlayment, and building structure and emerging in the room below.
  • Delta IIC Sound Rating of 22. Delta rating is the best rating to consider when comparing the performance of different types of underlayment.
  • Moisture protection recycled fibers allow installation over concrete to & managing vapors from becoming bulk moisture. The attached vapor barrier protects the overlying floors from harmful moisture.
  • Compression resistant dense recycled fiber structure supports the click-together mechanism and will uphold its supportive configuration under the consistent traffic of the overlying floor.
  • QuietWalk's compression resistance exceeds the requirement for pre-attached flooring that is greater than 29 psi @50% per ASTM D1667. The high compression resistance assures that the underlayment will not contribute to floor decoupling.
  • GreenGuard Gold Certified. Meets health based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
  • Approved for in-floor radiant heat systems allows heat to permeate evenly while helping to protect the floor covering material from thermal shock, achieve warmth with quiet warmth radiant heat system
  • Easy installation - roll out and join the seam
  • Mold and Mildew Resistant
  • Made from Recycled Material in USA
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • R-Value of 0.58. R-Value is a measure of the insulating ability of the underlayment.
  • Water Vapor Transmission Rate of 0.423 lbs / 1000 sq ft / 24 hrs. Result expresses the amount of moisture emissions the concrete emits using a calcium chloride test.
  • Use for both residential and commercial.

Info & Guides

Installation Instructions

Floating Floors

  1. Subfloor surface must be clean and dry before installation.
  2. Roll QuietWalk underlayment over the subfloor with vapor barrier film (imprinted side) facing up.
  3. The perimeter eges of QuietWalk underlayment need to be 1/2 to 3/4 inches away from the wall.
  4. Seams need to be butted together flush, do not overlap the pad. Tape the seams with duct tape, unless the roll is provided with a factory attached lip and tape system.
  5. Install laminate/floating flooring according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.

All wood and concrete subfloors must be flat within 1/8" over a 6' span, or 3/16" over a 10' span. All areas must be check prior to installation.

* In geographic areas where concrete slabs are subject to excessive moisture, a calcium chloride moisture test is required. Vapor emission readings in excess of 5 lbs. per 1000 square feet in 24 hours will require additional protection such as a concrete sealant or polyethylene sheeting.

NOTE:
Due to the manufacturing process and the use of recycled materials, the pad thickness may vary .02 of an inch plus-or-minus. Actual weigt of each roll may also vary 1.2 lbs. plus-or-minus. While it may appear that one roll is slightly larger than aother, MP Global guarantee this slight variance DOES NOT affect the coverage area nor the sound absorption benefits of the product.

    Holds up well

Posted by Richard on 3rd Jun 2020

I installed QuietWalk under my living room floor when I made the switch from carpet to laminate around six months ago. So far the QuietWalk has held up great.

    Installed with my laminate

Posted by Edward on 27th May 2020

I had this installed under my laminate floor. The installer said it was very easy. The noise reduction was even more than I thought it would be!

    Better than foam!

Posted by David S. on 19th May 2020

I have used foam underlayments in the past and they are a pain to roll out! This fiber/felt underlayment rolls out nicely and feels like much higher quality material.

    Reduces Echo

Posted by Frank on 7th May 2020

Definitely noticed the echo of the room was reduced. Can be difficult to cut, probably a good thing, proves it is durable.

    Would recommend

Posted by Phillip on 5th May 2020

Was happy when I unrolled the product and it stayed unrolled. Underlayments I have used in the past won't lay flat and make the floor difficult to install. Overall good quality product and good price.

Thin enough not to raise the flooring

Posted by Anne on 28th Apr 2020

I used this under laminate flooring I installed. It rolled out easy and was thin enough not to raise the flooring, but thick enough to dampen the sound.

    Fast Shipping

Posted by Rajesh Patel on 28th Feb 2020

Our contractor was going to install the flooring in a couple of days and our local stores didn't carry this product so we bought here online. All I can say it was very fast shipping and in time for our installation. Very happy!

    Perfect for our application

Posted by Heidi Call on 25th Feb 2020

We decided to install this under our new laminate flooring. The subfloor was uneven and this underlayment covered the uneven areas to produce the flat surface.
